Save Me

5 Day Devotional

Day 1: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
Devotional: Have you ever wondered why you're here? What makes you unique among the billions of people on this planet? The truth is profound yet simple: you were created with intention. God didn't just make you—He crafted you with precision, care, and purpose. Each of us carries distinct gifts, talents, and callings. Your personality, your experiences, your strengths—none of these are accidents. They're divine equipment for a divine assignment. The fingerprints of God's creativity are all over your life. Today, take a moment to recognize that your existence isn't random. You're not just taking up space. You're here because the Creator of the universe designed you for something specific that only you can fulfill. This understanding changes everything about how we view ourselves and our daily choices. When we grasp that we're fearfully and wonderfully made, we stop comparing ourselves to others. We stop wishing we were someone else. Instead, we embrace who God created us to be and step confidently into the purpose He's prepared for us.

Bible Verse: "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." - Romans 10:9-10

Reflection Question: What unique qualities has God given you that might indicate the specific purpose He has for your life?

Quote: You're fearfully and wonderfully made. And God has a plan for everybody in the balcony. Everybody on the main floor. Every group that is represented here today or listening. God has a perfect plan for you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me with purpose and intention. Help me to see myself through Your eyes—as someone fearfully and wonderfully made. Guide me to understand the specific calling You've placed on my life and give me courage to walk in it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Day 2: The Pivotal Choice
Devotional: Life is filled with countless decisions—what to eat, what to wear, where to live, who to marry. But beneath all these choices lies one fundamental decision that shapes everything else: Will I serve myself or will I serve my Savior? This question isn't just about Sunday mornings or volunteer activities. It's about the orientation of our entire lives. When we choose to serve ourselves, we place our desires, comfort, and ambitions at the center. But when we choose to serve the Savior, we surrender our agenda to His greater purpose. The beautiful paradox of faith is that in losing our lives, we find them. In surrendering our plans, we discover God's better plan. In giving up control, we gain peace beyond understanding. This choice isn't made once and forgotten. It's renewed daily in a thousand small decisions. Will I spend my time, talents, and resources on myself or invest them in eternal purposes? Will I live for temporary satisfaction or lasting impact? Today, consider where your life is oriented. Are you primarily serving yourself or your Savior? The answer to this question determines not just your daily experience but your eternal destination.

Bible Verse: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" - Romans 10:13-14

Reflection Question: What is one area of your life where you need to surrender control and choose to serve the Savior rather than yourself?

Quote: There comes a time when we have to make a choice. Are we going to serve ourselves? Are we going to serve the Savior?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times I've chosen to serve myself instead of You. Today, I choose again to put You at the center of my life. Help me to surrender my plans, my comfort, and my desires to Your greater purpose. Show me what it means to truly serve You in every aspect of my life. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Day 3: Called to Ministry
Devotional: When we hear the word "ministry," we often think of pastors, missionaries, or church staff. But God's definition is much broader. Ministry simply means service—using what God has given you to make a difference in His kingdom. Every believer has been called to ministry. You might not preach from a pulpit, but you have a unique sphere of influence where God wants to use you. Your workplace, neighborhood, family, or social circle—these are your ministry fields. God has distributed various gifts among His people. Some are called to teach, others to encourage, serve, give, lead, or show mercy. Some have the gift of hospitality, others the gift of administration. Some minister through music, others through acts of compassion. The question isn't whether you're called to ministry—it's what specific ministry God has equipped you for. Your personality, experiences, abilities, spiritual gifts, and passions all provide clues to your calling. When we embrace our calling, we experience fulfillment and purpose. We stop comparing our ministry to others and start celebrating the unique ways God wants to work through us. Today, consider how God might be calling you to serve in His kingdom.

Bible Verse: "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" - Romans 10:14

Reflection Question: What specific gifts, talents, or experiences has God given you that could be used to minister to others in His name?

Quote: Every single person is called unto a certain ministry for the kingdom. Every person.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be part of Your kingdom work. Help me to recognize the unique ministry You've prepared for me. Give me courage to step into that calling and use what You've given me to serve others. Remove any fear or hesitation that holds me back from fulfilling Your purpose for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Day 4: Starting at Home
Devotional: When we think about sharing our faith, we often imagine distant mission fields or strangers on the street. But the most important mission field might be sitting across from you at the dinner table. Our families—our children, spouses, parents, and siblings—are our first and most crucial evangelistic responsibility. These are the people we love most, whose eternal destinies should concern us most deeply. Sharing faith at home isn't primarily about formal Bible studies or theological discussions (though these have their place). It's about living authentically before those who know us best. It's about demonstrating Christ's love in everyday moments, speaking truth with grace, and modeling what it means to follow Jesus. For parents especially, there's no greater calling than guiding your children toward a relationship with Christ. This doesn't mean forcing faith upon them, but rather creating an environment where faith can flourish naturally. Sometimes we find it easier to witness to strangers than to our own family members. With strangers, there's less history, less complication, less risk of rejection. But Jesus calls us to be faithful witnesses beginning in Jerusalem—our own homes—before expanding to Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.

Bible Verse: "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" - Romans 10:15

Reflection Question: What practical steps can you take this week to more effectively share your faith with those closest to you?

Quote: The first place you ought to start is in your home, in your house. Make sure that people in your house know Jesus.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me wisdom and courage to share Your love with my family. Help me to be authentic in my faith, consistent in my witness, and gracious in my words. Open the hearts of my loved ones to receive Your truth. Use me as Your instrument to bring those closest to me into a saving relationship with You. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Day 5: The Only Savior
Devotional: There's a heartbreaking story of a father who stood helplessly outside a burning school, hearing his son cry out, "Daddy, save me!" Despite his desperate desire to rescue his child, he was powerless to do so. This tragic story illustrates a profound spiritual truth: when it comes to eternal salvation, our loved ones cannot save us. Our parents, spouses, pastors, or friends—no matter how much they love us—cannot rescue our souls. There is only one Savior—Jesus Christ. Only He has the power to forgive sins, transform hearts, and grant eternal life. Only His blood, shed on the cross, can cleanse us from unrighteousness. Only His resurrection guarantees our hope beyond the grave. This truth is both humbling and liberating. It's humbling because it reminds us that we cannot save ourselves or others through our own efforts. It's liberating because it places the weight of salvation where it belongs—on the capable shoulders of Christ. Today, if you've been trying to earn your salvation or depending on someone else to secure it for you, remember that Jesus alone is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. And the wonderful news is that His salvation is freely available to all who call on His name.

Bible Verse: "o then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." - Romans 10:17

Reflection Question: In what ways might you be trying to earn your salvation or depending on someone other than Jesus to save you?

Quote: Your daddy can't save you. Your mother can't save you. Your pastor can't save you. No one can save you except Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Savior. I acknowledge that I cannot save myself, and no one else can save me but You. I place my complete trust in Your finished work on the cross. Thank You for the gift of salvation that I could never earn or deserve. Help me to rest in Your grace and to share this good news with others who need to hear it. In Your precious name, Amen.
