I'm Not Going To Hell
I'm Not Going To Hell
5-Day Devotional
Day 1:
The Reality of Eternity
Devotional
We often live our lives focused on the immediate—today's tasks, this week's challenges, this year's goals. But Scripture reminds us that our existence extends far beyond our earthly lifespan. Every person is created to live forever, with our time on earth being just the beginning of an eternal journey. This perspective changes everything. When we recognize that our lives are more than just these fleeting decades, our priorities shift. The Bible teaches that after death comes judgment—a sobering reality that should influence how we live today. What's remarkable is that despite our sin and rebellion against God, He has provided a way of escape through Jesus Christ. We don't have to face eternal separation from God. Through Christ's sacrifice, we can experience forgiveness, reconciliation, and the promise of eternal life with Him. Today, consider the weight of eternity. Are your daily decisions aligned with this eternal perspective? Are you living in light of what lasts forever, or are you consumed by what is temporary?
Bible Verse
"And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." - Hebrews 9:27
Reflection Question
How would your priorities and decisions change today if you consistently viewed your life through the lens of eternity?
Quote "This life is a bit of Vapor. But eternity is too long to be wrong."
Prayer
Lord, help me to live with eternity in mind. Remind me that my life is more than just these passing years, and guide me to make choices that reflect the reality of forever. Thank you for providing the way to eternal life through Jesus. Amen.

Day 2:
The Choice Before Us
Devotional
One of the most profound truths of Scripture is that we have been given the freedom to choose our eternal destiny. God doesn't force anyone into relationship with Him—He invites us, pursues us, and loves us, but ultimately respects our decision. This choice carries the greatest consequences imaginable. Jesus spoke more about hell than anyone else in Scripture, not to frighten us, but to warn us out of love. He wanted us to understand the reality of eternal separation from God so we would choose life instead. The beautiful news is that no one has to experience this separation. Through Christ's death and resurrection, the way to eternal life has been opened for all who believe. When we place our faith in Jesus, acknowledging our sin and need for salvation, we receive the gift of eternal life. Today, consider the choice before you. Have you made a decision about Jesus? If you have chosen to follow Him, how is that choice reflected in your daily life? Remember, this decision isn't just about avoiding hell—it's about embracing the loving relationship with God you were created for.
Bible Verse
"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." - Matthew 25:46
Reflection Question
What evidence is there in your life that demonstrates you've made a conscious choice to follow Jesus rather than simply going through religious motions?
Quote "Every single person is created to live forever. And we get to choose where we're going to live. Think about that. You have a choice now."
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for respecting my freedom to choose. I choose You today. Help me to live in a way that reflects this choice in every aspect of my life. Thank you for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 3:
The Transforming Power of Salvation
Devotional
True salvation is never just a mental acknowledgment of facts about Jesus—it's a transformative experience that changes us from the inside out. When we genuinely encounter Christ, something profound happens within us. The Bible describes this transformation as becoming a "new creation"—the old passes away, and everything becomes new. This isn't just poetic language; it's the reality of what happens when the Holy Spirit takes residence in our lives. One of the clearest evidences of this transformation is our response to sin. Before salvation, we might sin without much concern. After truly meeting Christ, sin troubles us deeply because our nature has been changed. We now have the mind of Christ and desire to please Him. This transformation isn't instantaneous in every area of our lives. While our spirits are immediately justified, our souls undergo a progressive sanctification. God works in us day by day, conforming us to the image of His Son. Today, reflect on the evidence of transformation in your life. Are there areas where you've seen God change your desires and behaviors? Are there places where you're still resisting His transforming work?
Bible Verse
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Reflection Question
What specific changes has God made in your character, attitudes, or behaviors since you first believed, and what areas is He currently working on in your life?
Quote "When Adam sinned against God, he died immediately in his spirit and progressively in his soul and ultimately in his body. And when Jesus saves us, he puts that in reverse. We are justified immediately in the spirit and sanctified progressively in soul and glorified ultimately in our body."
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for the transforming power of your salvation. Continue your work in me, making me more like you each day. Help me to cooperate with your Spirit as you sanctify every part of my being. Amen.

Day 4:
The Urgency of the Gospel
Devotional
There's an urgency to sharing the gospel that comes from understanding the reality of eternity. When we truly grasp what's at stake—eternal life or eternal separation from God—we can't remain silent about the hope we've found in Jesus. This urgency isn't about using fear tactics or manipulation. Rather, it flows from a place of genuine love and concern for others. Just as we would urgently warn someone about to walk into physical danger, love compels us to share the truth about spiritual realities. Jesus himself spoke with urgency about eternal matters. Of the 172 times hell is mentioned in the New Testament, Jesus taught about it 70 times. He clearly wanted people to understand the consequences of rejecting God's love and forgiveness. The good news is that no one has to face judgment alone. Christ took our place, bearing the punishment for our sins so we could be reconciled to God. This message of hope is what the world desperately needs to hear. Today, consider who in your life needs to hear about Jesus. Who has God placed in your path that doesn't know Him yet? Ask for courage and wisdom to share the gospel with love and urgency.
Bible Verse
"And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh." - Jude 1:23
Reflection Question
Who are the specific people in your life that God may be calling you to share the gospel with, and what is holding you back from having those conversations?
Quote "When I lock eyes with somebody and I think about how I've been delivered, there's something in me that's not normal, that stimulates me to tell that person about the Lord."
Prayer
Father, give me a heart that breaks for those who don't know you. Remove my fear and hesitation in sharing the gospel. Help me to speak the truth in love, with both compassion and urgency. Use me to reach others with your message of hope. Amen.

Day 5:
The Assurance of Salvation
Devotional
One of the most precious gifts God offers believers is the assurance of salvation—the confidence that our eternal destiny is secure in Christ. This isn't presumption or arrogance; it's trust in God's promises and recognition of His work in our lives. The Bible teaches that we can know we have eternal life. This assurance isn't based on our feelings or performance but on the finished work of Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit within us. When we've truly been saved, the Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. Evidence of genuine salvation includes a changed heart toward sin, love for other believers, obedience to God's commands, and the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. While we still struggle with sin, our attitude toward it has fundamentally changed—we no longer embrace it but fight against it. If you lack assurance today, don't despair. Examine your heart honestly before God. If you find genuine faith and evidence of His work in your life, rest in His promises. If not, today is the day to genuinely surrender to Christ. Remember, salvation isn't about perfect performance but about a relationship with the perfect Savior who loves you completely.
Bible Verse
"Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." - 2 Peter 1:10
Reflection Question
What evidence of genuine salvation do you see in your life, and how can you grow in your assurance of God's saving work in you?
Quote "If you've really been saved and you sin after you've really been saved, you have a hard time sleeping, you have a hard time dealing with it because you know you've messed up, sir. If you've stepped out on your wife and it don't bother you, let me tell you something. You're not saved."
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of salvation and the assurance that I belong to you. Help me to rest in your promises rather than my performance. Strengthen my faith and help me to live in the confidence that comes from knowing I am yours forever. Amen.
