Wanted Dead And Alive

5 Day Devotional

Day 1: Understanding Grace
Grace is a gift from God that we often struggle to fully comprehend. It is not merely a free pass to continue in sin, but a powerful force that transforms our lives. When we truly grasp the depth of God's grace, it leads us to repentance and a desire to live a holy life. Grace is God's riches at Christ's expense, but it is also so much more than we can imagine. It is the foundation of our salvation and the strength we need to live each day for Him.

Bible Verse: Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. - Romans 5:20

Reflection Question: How has the grace of God transformed your life, and how can you let it lead you to a deeper relationship with Christ?

Quote: Now aren't you glad for the grace of God? You know, we are saved by grace. We live by grace, and when we die, we'll die by grace.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your amazing grace. Help me to understand its true meaning and let it transform my life. Lead me to live a life that reflects Your holiness and love. Amen.
Day 2: The Call to Holiness
As Christians, we are called to live a life of holiness, not because we are perfect, but because we are transformed by God's grace. When we are born again, we are separated from sin and called to live for God. This doesn't mean we won't make mistakes, but it means we strive to stay close to God and avoid the edge of sin. Our love for Jesus and the radical change in our lives should drive us to live in a way that honors Him.

Bible Verse: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. - Romans 6:1-2

Reflection Question: In what areas of your life do you need to strive for holiness, and how can you rely on God's grace to help you?

Quote: Let's don't get out here on the edge and think, well, I'm still going to heaven, I'm still saved, but I'm going to be in these places where all manner of evil is going on and praising the evil things of this world.

Prayer: Father, help me to live a life of holiness. I know I am not perfect, but I want to honor You in all that I do. Give me the strength to avoid sin and stay close to You. Amen.
Day 3: The Symbolism of Baptism
Baptism is a powerful declaration of our faith and a symbol of our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Just as a wedding ring symbolizes marriage, baptism symbolizes the inward change that has taken place in our hearts. It is an outward expression of our commitment to Christ and a reminder of the new life we have in Him. Through baptism, we publicly declare that we belong to Jesus and are committed to following Him.

Bible Verse: Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? - Romans 6:3

Reflection Question: How does your baptism remind you of your commitment to Christ, and how can you live out that commitment daily?

Quote: So what is this? Baptism? You know what this ring is? Yes, I know it's a ring. I ain't asking you what's on it. It's Hebrew. You wouldn't probably know how to read it. What does that tell me? That I'm married. I got a wife.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of baptism. Help me to remember the commitment I made to You and to live out that commitment every day. Let my life be a reflection of the inward change You have made in my heart. Amen.
Day 4: Embracing Imperfection
We are not perfect, and we will make mistakes. But God's grace is sufficient for us. When we sin, we feel awful and want to repent immediately because the Holy Spirit lives in us. Our imperfections remind us of our need for God's grace and His continual guidance. We are rescued from our sin, ourselves, and the filth of this world. Embrace your imperfections, knowing that God's grace covers you and leads you to repentance and growth.

Bible Verse: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. - 1 Corinthians 12:9

Reflection Question: How can you embrace your imperfections and rely on God's grace to lead you to repentance and growth?

Quote: But does that mean we're going to be perfect? No. I hate to inform some of us that we're not going to live perfect. We're going to make a mess sometimes.

Prayer: Father, I acknowledge my imperfections and my need for Your grace. Help me to rely on Your strength and guidance. Lead me to repentance and growth, and let Your grace transform my life. Amen.
Day 5: Living a Transformed Life
When we are born again, our lives are radically changed. We are no longer slaves to sin but are made righteous through Christ. This transformation is not just a one-time event but a continual process of growing closer to God and living out our faith. We are called to give all we can, go all we can, speak all we can, and worship all we can while we can. Let the grace of God lead you to live a transformed life that reflects His love and holiness.

Bible Verse: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. - Romans 6:14

Reflection Question: How can you live out your faith and let the grace of God lead you to a transformed life?

Quote: Of course, we're not here long. We ought to give all we can, go all we can, speak all we can, worship all we can while we can.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the radical change You have made in my life. Help me to live out my faith and let Your grace lead me to a transformed life. Let my life reflect Your love and holiness. Amen.
